Information - Water
District
Recently the Township was involved in litigation pertaining
to Water District II. The circuit Judge ruled in favor
of the Township in six (6) of the seven (7) counts.
The seventh (that he did not rule in favor of ) pertained
to five property owners in the Water
District II that have municipal water supplied by a
two (2) inch waterline and 69.8 acres of land owned
by SEMCO. The six (6) favorable counts consisted of
procedure in following Public Act 188 of 1954 and size
of waterline.
The Circuit Judge’s ruling indicates the Water
District II cannot proceed.
At the regular Township Board meeting of February 7,
2007, the decision was made to not appeal the Judge’s
ruling.
