Orchard’s Store sign: business was in compliance with ordinances at time of installation.

Marine City airport: business was in compliance with ordinances at time of installation.

  1. Assembly of compilation of ordinance updates.

Further review of proposed ordinance language

NEW BUSINESS

  1. Schedule Public Hearing: Ordinance Updates

Motion by Bill Drake to set the Public Hearing on July 25, 7:00 p.m. at the township hall

Second: Bill Jenuwine

Motion approved

  1. Bill Klaasen, Bldg. Inspector, comments on ordinance updates: included in Old Business discussion
  2. Review of “Engineering Standards” ordinance proposals:
    • Huron Consultants, Port Huron
    • Giffels-Webster Engineers, Roch. Hills/Wash. Twp/Detroit
    • BMJ Engineers & Surveyors, Port Huron
    • Anderson, Eckstein & Westrick, Shelby Twp
    • Project Control Engineering, Algonac

            Discussion: Need a Request for Proposals sent out instead of           

            these proposals so we can adequately compare proposals and 

            costs.

           Motion by Bill Drake to send to these companies a Request for

           Proposal to develop an engineering ordinance for the township

           Second: Bernie Pelc

           Motion approved

  1. Recommendation to Township Board re: Engineering Firm to prepare “Engineering Standards” ordinance; see Motion in c.
  2. Grass Cutting Ordinance needed?

Discussion: we need one.  Mr. Smith is to research language.

Informational Note: Commissioner Tom Raymond has resigned to take the position of Township Supervisor.
