CORRESPONDENCE

Request from Supervisor Zweng (reference letter from Huron Consultants) regarding development of an "engineering standards ordinance," for future developments in Cottrellville Twp. Offer received from Mr. Gregory Hoffmann, Huron Consultants, to appear before Planning Comm. to explain why we need these requirements.   See "New Business" item b.

-NEW: mobile food pantry, April 11, Marine City Airport, 12-2 p.m.  Volunteers are needed, just show up at 11 a.m.

-Letter with refund sent to PUD applicant, which was withdrawn.

OLD BUSINESS

a) Review of ordinances

    1. Landscaping regulations

    - current ordinance addresses buffers, not landscaping (aesthetics)

    -directed Mr. Smith to draft some language for next meeting,

     suggestions:

       Small % of site green

       Maintenance requirement

       Require planting bed of some type

       Minimum number of trees

    2. General Provisions

- 132.1418 Higher Traffic Access Through Residential Streets Generally 

   Prohibited.  Reviewed.

- 132.1423 Plant Materials.  Reviewed.

- 132.1424 Swimming Pools. Reviewed.  Check ordinances for definition

  of “front yard” applying to river frontage.

- 132.1425 Ponds.  To be reviewed next month.

- 132.1426 Buildings to be Moved. Reviewed.

- 132.1427 Lot and Subdivision Limitations.  Reviewed.

- 132.1428 Porches, Patios and Terraces. Reviewed.

    3. Remaining items for discussion

- Accessory buildings- boathouse

NEW BUSINESS

a) Zoning Board of Appeals- discuss language

- reviewed proposed update of our current ordinance

b) Engineering Standards- Invite Mr. Hoffman to present next month?

- These standards would apply to items like standards for parking lots, etc.  Our current ordinance does not address these standards, which could result in substandard pavement, etc. 

ACTION: We will invite Mr. Hoffman to make a presentation next month.
