COTTRELLVILLE TOWNSHIP

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

3 OCTOBER 2007

Supervisor Thomas Raymond called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

PRESENT: Trustee E. Sue Terhune, Treasurer Dian Courtney, Supervisor Thomas Raymond. Absent: None. Also present: Legal Advisor John McNamee, Assessor Schutt.

APPROVED: Approved Board Meeting minutes for 09/05/07 with changes. Approved payables and payroll in the amount of $44,163.56. Rick Garcia from the United Way gave a presentation. Proclamation in support of the United Way adopted. Approved unpaid water and sewer bills added to the 2007 tax bills. Approved adjusting the pay for underpayment of salaries for four Township employees. Accepted with regrets the resignation of Trustee William Jenuwine. Approved appointing Bernard Pelc to serve as a Trustee on the Board to fill the vacancy until November 20, 2008. Conflict of interest issue was defined by Township Attorney John McNamee. Candidates for the Clerk’s position were present to introduce themselves. Fire Contract was discussed in length.

Approved accepting the fire contract for Ira Township and Marine City for a two-year period starting 01/01/08. Approved Board members attending the 2007 Fall Workshop on Water Quality to be held October 30, 2007 in Pt. Huron.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:

Disagree with the fire contract acceptance.

Ira Fire Department comments.

Objected to a lien placed on a home resulting from an unpaid water bill.

Legal Advisor explained laws and procedures.

BOARD COMMENTS:

Supervisor Raymond: Bike path & basketball court was slurry sealed. Dehumidifiers were delivered for the five pump stations. Twp. Offices closed for Columbus Day.

Trustee E. Sue Terhune update of a meeting with a representative from the Community Program Specials in the USDA Rural Development Department re: grants and low interest loans for the water districts coming up.
